Randi Saulter, M.S. — Randi Saulter has worked as an independent consultant and has trained professionals in various educational programs. She has taught special education grades K-12 in Northern California, providing complete language-based academic curriculum to students with severe disorders of language as well as low cognition in self-contained special day classes. She designed, coordinated and oversaw a school-wide reading program serving every student at the middle school level. She also served as program coordinator for special education in a Northern California school district.

For 12 semesters, Randi was a lecturer at San Francisco State University for the Department of Communicative Disorders, the Department of Special Education and the Department of Elementary Education. She has also served as the Director of an Elementary and Middle School which utilized only research-validated curriculum.

She then served as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for a small school district in Columbus, Ohio which also utilized only research-validated curriculum.  

Currently, Randi works as an independent consultant in several school districts around the country.   She provides consultation, model lessons, teacher coaching and inservice training to school districts and individual schools in reading, vocabulary, math, positive behavior management and curriculum-based assessments.   In addition, she presents annually at several professional conferences.

don crawfordDon Crawford, Ph.D. — Dr. Don Crawford has been an educator for 30 years, teaching all grade levels from K-12 in both regular and special education. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon, Division of Learning and Instructional Leadership. Dr. Crawford trained Special Education teachers at University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and at Western Washington University. He is a curriculum author of Mastering Math Facts, Mastering Math Facts Families, Word Problems Made Easy, Mastering Alphabetic Spelling, Mastering Dictated Sentences and a co-author of Understanding U.S. History and Rocket Math. He has published scholarly articles in Education and Treatment of Children, Intervention in School and Clinic, and Learning Disability Quarterly. Dr. Crawford has given teacher training workshops around the country on classroom management, reading, spelling, math and curriculum based evaluation. He served for as the Director of W. C. Cupe Community Schools and the Director of Training for NIFDI. He is currently the co-editor of Direct Instruction News and Director of Academics for the Baltimore Curriculum Project.
